STATISTICS

Character Name: Abby Anderson
Character Canon: The Last of Us Part II
Character Age: Twenty-six
Canon Point: Post-game (TLOU 2) + after four years spent in Thedas (Fade Rift CRAU)
Link to History: Link
Skills: Built to survive the zombie apocalypse: Trained in marksmanship and survival skills as well as hand-to-hand combat. Proficient across a wide array of weapon types (handgun, pistol; crossbow, flamethrower) and extremely fit and muscular from time spent lifting weights and training her body to become a weapon. Has fast reflexes, excellent reaction times and is resourceful with her surroundings, including scavenging and reusing materials for crafting purposes. Knows how to jump
A white woman who reads: Well-read and proud of it. Will happily go look it up in a book if she can't get specific information that she needs and then share that with other people as she sees fit
Cleric-ish: Her dad was a doctor and she has a solid understanding of first aid. She can't undertake anything major, surgery for example, but she is proficient in wound care, will stitch up any gashes that need it, and can set and splint limbs should the need arise. Plus she can easily carry you out of danger like you're a princess

Abilities: From Fade Rift CRAU: She has an anchor-shard in her hand that, in Thedas, could manifest Fade energy and shoot out green bolts like a video game gun (pew pew pew) + provide a shield but I want to propose it doesn't work in Rubi because she is no longer in proximity to the Fade. tldr; the sliver (looks like a green slash down her right palm) remains in her hand but no longer works
Curse Mark: Wilk, situated on the palm of her left hand
CHARACTERIZATION

FORMATIVE EXPERIENCES:
  • FIRST EVENT: - (Canon) Dead dad. Abby's father is murdered when she is a teenager by Joel Miller. Devastated, Abby flees to Seattle and joins up with the Washington Liberation Force (WLF). She starts working out, obsessively building herself from the bottom up to become a cold-blooded killer in the hopes that, one day, she'll track Joel down and exact revenge for what he did to her. Five years later she achieves that but killing Joel does not 'fix' any of her problems

  • SECOND EVENT: - (Canon) Lev and Yara. Abby's faction, the WLF, is in a turf war with a rival group called the Seraphites. The Seraphiates are a death cult who worship a dead woman called the Prophet. Abby meets two children, Lev and Yara, while they are trying to escape this cult and ends up taking them under her wing after they save her life. She takes care of them and helps them to escape the Seraphites. After Yara is killed by the WLF Abby places herself bodily between Lev and the leader of her old faction to keep Lev from harm. Through caring for Yara and Lev Abby finds a new purpose and is finally able to drag herself out of the endless cycle of revenge she was stuck in

  • THIRD EVENT: - (Canon/Fade Rift CRAU) Ellie Williams. Abby spends the bulk of canon being obsessively hunted by Ellie, and (pivoting to CRAU) when she falls through a rift and into Thedas, she finds Ellie already living there. They clash in a violent panic at first sight but now that they are on the same side (Riftwatch) of a new war, they are forced to trust each other. They have a tense working relationship, able to cooperate only on missions, but as time passes they strengthen a mutually agreed upon peaceful truce, and start to realise they have a lot in common, becoming curious about each other. Their relationship is tumultuous but by the end of Ellie's time in Thedas the two of them had become friendly with each other — enough that Abby misses her after she's gone

  • FOURTH EVENT: - (Fade Rift CRAU) Granitefell. While on what was supposed to be a straightforward mission, Riftwatch's forces are lured into an ambush by Tevinter at Granitefell and 16 members are killed, including Abby. Three weeks later, rifter magi-science invents a time machine powered by dragon blood (stay with me) to go back and warn the team en route to Granitefell. This is successful and the two timelines sync back up as if the bad end never happened

PHILOSOPHY: Abby has a survival mindset; first and foremost she's interested in protecting herself and the people she is closest to from immediate harm. She understands the cruelty of the world and has, in turn, been incredibly cruel herself, and is striving to reach a place where she can be at peace with actions she has taken in the past and learn to move forward, to better herself. She is trying to become compassionate. She is trying to stop blindly taking orders, letting people point her in whatever direction they want and pull the trigger, having realised she has to start thinking for herself. She is hungry to find out what she wants to do with her life and is starting to consider and care strongly about how other people perceive her.

DESIRES: A stable place to call home; a group to be part of. Abby has been a survivor all her life, never staying in one place for too long, and the place she grew up in was violent and unpredictable, ready to rob her of her people without warning. During her time in Thedas she became attached to living in the Gallows and belonging to Riftwatch, and, after three or four years, finally started to call it home. Now she's lost all of that again and she knows she needs it back. She's going to work hard to establish a community wherever she ends up, making friends and allies until she feels comfortable and safe

FEARS: Abby is still afraid of losing people that she loves. Time and distance has been slowly healing the wounds left from the murders of her father and friends but she is still learning to live with that grief and not blame herself for what happened. She also quietly fears that she will never see Lev again, as he never showed up in Thedas during her time there, and she can't seem to return to her original home. Being scared of losing people makes her act cautiously and be overly protective to people that she's worried about

WRONGS: Abby has killed a lot of people, on Earth and on Thedas; in canon she tortured Joel Miller to death and took vicious satisfaction in destroying the Seraphite cult wherever she could. In Thedas she was fighting a war and killed people as directed to by the leader of her faction. Joel's torture and murder was revenge-motivated and it's something that she feels guilty about. Sometimes she worries that vengeful part of her personality is still there, buried deep, ready to come back out in full force if something terrible happens to somebody she loves
GAMEPLAY

SUITABILITY: I'm choosing Abby for this game because I want to keep playing her but Fade Rift is in an inactive period at the moment (additionally, Libby's character Gwen is in Rubi and Abby knows an older version of Gwen from Fade Rift so that's going to be interesting).

In Fade Rift I got Abby to a point where she had a really solid, healthy trajectory forward in her new life with Riftwatch and, like, good for her or whatever but now I want to send her back over the edge with this monster premise. I want to play on her old fears and bad, destructive habits that haven't had a chance to resurface. The setting of the game works really well for her too — she has never been in a 'modern' game setting before and I guess I'm not about to put her in one any time soon.

In conclusion I wanna be in a sex game with my favourite guy, please let me here. Thank you

SAMPLE: CW discussion of past murder

MONSTER: Wilk: werewolf.

Abby's monstrous form is that of a hellhound, cŵn annwn, a white wolf with bright red inner ears and eyes. She walks on four legs and is unnaturally large (ref). She has huge, curved teeth that hook on and into her target, making getting away from her once she has you in her jaws extremely difficult. Her claws are sharp and easily rend flesh. She is fast and agile, good at tracking her prey by scent, and has extremely good hearing. She has to rely on these two senses to navigate, as her eyesight is extremely poor.

Her white fur is thick and dense and protects her from most surface injury. When she is newly in her transformation her coat appears pure and pristine; over time she becomes bloody, caked in mud, dirt and grime, and her fur and skin becomes infected, sprouting orange fungus reminiscent of the cordyceps that rules the world she originally came from.

'A Cŵn Annwn's goal [...] is to hunt wrongdoers into the ground until they can run no longer, just as the criminals did to their victims.' Her werewolf howl serves as a death knell to all who hear it. When you are far away from her, the howling and growling (and occasional clicking) is loud, distinct and echoing, frightening; the closer she gets to you the quieter and softer she becomes. Once she goes silent, she is upon you, and it is too late.

Abby's monstrous form brings out that old, monstrous side of her that she is so desperate to put behind her and move on from. In her werewolf form she is single-minded and obsessive, tracking down those who have done her/her people wrong or who she decides must be brought to justice. She is not content to simply hunt and kill these targets but is compelled to wound them bit by bit, often letting them run between attacks until they can no longer get away from her.
