[He shoves at her! She's being so rude. But okay, finally he gets the wrapping off and finds a curious object. It's like a glove but not. He knows that it's for using his bow, they've made ones from objects they find back home. But of them were real.
He runs his finger over the leather and then glances up at her.]
(she glances from the glove to him, suddenly a little nervous. he got her something related to a hobby, and something incredibly sentimental and she got him– an assist, essentially. for fighting. shit. uhhhh)
(it's very cool looking, and he doesn't seem offended, so after a beat abby relaxes, and leans back against her headboard to watch him flex his hand in it.)
[He opens it. Carefully at first and then, catching Abby's eye, pulls the paper apart more quickly. There's box. Curious. He opens the box and dumps the contents out onto the bed.
It's a long... tube.
Lev picks it up and looks at it through the large glass end instead of the eyehole.]
[For a minute, he's quiet as he puts the object back to his eye, learning that he can twist it and make the colors move and dance. It's enchanting, like being inside his own head when he tries to draw.
she makes room for him though, automatically, and shifts back down in bed to get comfortable too. seems like a nap is in order before they get up and eat... all of this bacon, huh. she leans over first, and props his drawing up on her bedside table. pride of place, right next to her only photo frame.)
We should do Christmas next year, even if it’s just us.
[He settles down next to her in the bed and rolls over to face her. Giving gifts is... fun actually. He likes the idea of making people happy. Of making Abby happy.]
We're gonna do Christmas every year until one of us gets sick of it.
(abby could go so many more years, she knows it. even if she didn't like christmas, seeing lev this happy with himself would be worth putting up with anything in the world. she turns her head on the pillow to face him. her grin is sleepy.)

[Still, he shifts back closer to her once she presents the gifts. He takes the squishy one, pokes at it, then pulls it open.]
no subject
(she stuck the paper to the gift with cello tape. and there is a tiny hole in the parcel lev is opening already.)
no subject
Still, he opens it delicately, pulling apart the seams of the folds instead of the paper.]

Lev, just rip it. (she wants to see his reaction!!)

It's really cool.

Is... it big enough?
no subject
It is.
See?
[He shows it to her. Like she should be proud.]

[He reaches over and grabs the other package like he's trying to be sneaky but knows that she's going to see it.
He shakes it experimentally.]

(how... to explain this one.
she can't, it's just weird.) You're gonna have to open it and find out.

It's a long... tube.

What even is this thing?
no subject
(or a... mystery eye, if you're eda. she watches him examine it with barely contained amusement.)
Other end, kid. You look through it like a telescope, and twist it.

[He glances at her and then at the kaleidoscope as if trying to determine if she's teasing. Eventually, he shrugs and puts it to his eye.]
It's full of colors. And stars.
[He drops it and tries to peer into the wrong end again. BECAUSE HOW.]
no subject
(it made her think of him. maybe this was also a present for herself because it's so delightful to watch him try and figure out how it works.)
It's cellophane, mostly. And some actual magic, I got it enchanted.

Then he drops it from his face to look at her.]
Thanks.

(she looks really pleased with herself. abby thinks she did good.)
You got everybody else's presents to them alright? (he had quite a list, abby remembers that.)
no subject
[He wiggles a little, clearly proud of himself and excited for his friends to see what they get.]
no subject
They're gonna love it, Lev.

[He yawns and shifts in the bed pulling the covers over himself like he's going to flop down and just... take over her bed.
Which is probably exactly what he's planning to do.

I know so.
